What is the Snack Shack?
The heart of Nike Park is Great Falls Little League’s concession stand, which is known as the “Snack Shack.” It is a fun and convenient way for families to buy refreshments and meals during a game. The profits from the Snack Shack also provide additional revenue for Great Falls Little League activities.
The Snack Shack is a wonderful convenience that offers busy and overwhelmed parents a place where they can get their children lunch or dinner on game days! It is also a place where eager and excited children can purchase drinks, snacks, candy and more!
How is the Snack Shack “staffed?”
The Snack Shack is run by our Snack Shack Coordinator and a team of volunteers who help open and close the Snack Shack each day, also known as the Snack Shack Squad. If you are interested in being part of this team, please contact Julie Ryan ([email protected]).
We rely 100% on volunteers to work in the Snack Shack during every game at Nike 1 and Nike 2. The Snack Shack requires two adults to operate and a griller to cook food. Whenever there are games scheduled at Nike 1 and/or Nike 2, the teams are assigned volunteer slots.

I have never worked at the Snack Shack. How will I know what to do?
The idea of volunteering at the Snack Shack may be a little overwhelming for families who are new to AA, AAA and Majors (these are typically the divisions that play on Nike 1 and Nike 2). However, we try and make it an enjoyable and stress-free experience by providing menu and price lists, written guidance and instructions, as well as providing contact information for the Snack Shack Coordinators in case of questions or issues. We truly appreciate our volunteers and want to make it as easy as possible for you.
How are volunteers “assigned” for Snack Shack duty?
For the 2022 season, the league has assigned coverage for your team at the Snack Shack for each scheduled game. Each GFLL family is expected to volunteer at the Snack Shack once during the course of the season if you have a child playing on Nike 1 or 2. The parent volunteers should show up at the Snack Shack at the time their shift begins to help prepare for the game and to review how to run the Snack Shack. Shifts are typically 1-1/2 hours and volunteers have a clear view to the fields. The parent volunteers are expected to run the Snack Shack throughout the game.
The Snack Shack Coordinator will come at the end of the game to help clean up and close up or we will coordinate with you to lock up the windows and doors when your shift is over.
Shifts for the post-season will be added toward the end of the regular season.

Are children allowed to volunteer in the Snack Shack?
In the past, we have let children help out in the Snack Shack (at the customer windows) as long as the kids are well behaved and closely supervised by an adult. The kids should not be left unattended in the Snack Shack, and no one is permitted to eat inside the Snack Shack.
We encourage students in grades 6 and higher who need service hours to sign up to volunteer in the Snack Shack and will sign off on service hour forms for their time.
Do all teams in GFLL volunteer in the Snack Shack?
No. We request that all of the teams who play on Nike 1 and Nike 2 take slots in the Snack Shack since volunteers have clear lines to watch the games on these fields. Typically, the AA, AAA and Majors teams in Baseball have the volunteer requirement.
While there is no requirement for our Baseball Tee Ball and Coach Pitch teams nor any Divisions in Softball to volunteer, we highly encourage all GFLL players, coaches and families to enjoy the Snack Shack each and every week of the season. The Snack Shack helps create a sense of community for our GFLL families and we look forward to seeing you all up there this season. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Julie Ryan and she will get you on the schedule.
Thanks for your help and have a great season!
Please remember to clean up after yourselves throughout Nike Park. Our Snack Shack is a wonderful offering, but we count on our families to ensure trash and recycling make it to the proper bins. Thanks!
