Schedule of Events:
7:45am: All teams (tball through majors!) line up in full uniform with team banners on Nike field 5
8:00am: Parade begins from Nike Field 5 to Nike Field 1.
8:45am: Welcome remarks, National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, Introduction of Langley High School Baseball and Softball teams, Announcement of team banner winner (free team ice cream from the Snack Shack!!), Volunteer of the Year award
9:00am: Ceremonial Opening Day Pitch! **Stay tuned for info on our very special guest!**
9:05am: Beloved tradition of base running race between the Forestville Elementary School, Colvin Run Elementary School and Great Falls Elementary School Mascots. Which mascot will make it around the bases to home plate first??
Information on Opening Day:
We can't wait to kick off the Spring 2024 Little League season with your family! Please mark your calendars for Saturday, April 6, 2024 for our Opening Day! Please bring your child in full uniform and meet their coach and team mates on Nike field 5. Then, find a good spot along the pathway to cheer on your child's team as they make their way along the parade route from Nike field 5 to the main event on Nike field 1. Save your appetite and come check out all of the fresh coffee and food offerings at the Snack Shack! We'll be open all day! This year we have invited several food trucks to join the fun on Opening Day including Tom's Coffee, Mochinut Donut and Two Smooth Dudes smoothie truck. We will also be selling some really cool and useful new Great Falls Little League swag items like personalized bleacher seat cushions, personalized koozies, softball hair ribbons and more!
For our younger fans:
Little ones will enjoy getting a free softball or baseball temporary tatoo, visiting the fire truck touch-a-truck event that will be located in the lower parking lot and meeting "Clicky" the mascot who will be visiting from Operation Safe Child.
New Nike Field Amenities:
The league has been working hard in the off season to keep Nike Field in top shape and to bring several new amenities to Nike Field just in time for Opening Day!
