Welcome to the online home of the Great Falls Virginia Little League. We serve an area centered around the village of Great Falls bounded on the west by Loudon County and the north and east by the Potomac River. The southwest boundary extends to the south of Route 7 to include those neighborhoods in the old (pre-Andrew Chapel) Forestville elementary attendance area. The southeast boundary is Difficult Run.

Softball All Stars Win District Championship!!!

Our girls have clinched the District's championship for the first time in our league's history, 21-11 in 4 1/2 innings over McLean. This is an enormous accomplishment for the girls, our revamped softball program and Great Falls Little League as a whole. They are plans to have the girls participate in the 4th of July parade, so please come on out and congratulate the girls and their coaches.
Players: Kerry Bush, Julia Chirite, Katie Cynkar, Melanie Dronfield, Haley Falkenberry, Maggie Natal, Caroline O’Connor, Gabi Pijaca, Caroline Potteiger, Lauren Simons, Katie Studebaker and Emily Templin. Coaches: Mike Sharkey and
Doug Dronfield.

An interesting side item, above is a picture of Caroline and Jonathan O'Connor and Lauren and Jack Simons. The Simons and O'Connor families are the only families in Great Falls to have won a District title in both Baseball and Softball. (Jonathan and Jack in 2005 for the 10-11s.)
AAA Nationals Just Fall Short
Our AAA baseball team, the Nationals, came from a 13-3 deficit against McLean in the 4th inning to almost wiun the game. The final score was 13-12. Great Job!
Thunder Beats Mclean
Our AAA softball team, the Great Falls Thunder, won the area softball title, The City Series, on June 13th with a 11-10 victory over the McLean Red Sox. Way to go girls!

Reminder GFLL AA Rule: No More Walks in AA.
In AA ball, pitchers are generally not able to throw pitches in the strike zone on a consistent basis. As a result, there are many walks in AA and the GFLL believes that this overabundance of walks greatly reduces the actual “ball in play” experience. It also results in AA games becoming so-called walk-fests. As a result, the GFLL has adopted a local rule for its AA program, see the AA rules page.
17 Rules Myths
Take a moment to check out the 17 Rules Myths about baseball play calling, that every player, manager, and coach should review... they are quite illuminating!
Rules and Conduct
Besides the National Little League rules, the GFLL has promulgated a set of local rules for game play that everyone should become familiar with. In addition to these rules, there is also a code of obligations and conduct for parents, players, managers and coaches.
