About Tyler Womer

Coach Tyler Womer has an extensive coaching background as he has worked with players from the ages of six years old all the way up to 30-year old professional baseball players. Coach Womer has had the opportunity to work with some of the best players throughout the East Coast over the past 10 years. Tyler has 6 years of college baseball coaching experience including 3 years as the Recruiting Coordinator at NCAA Division-III powerhouse, DeSales University (PA). Tyler also spent two years as an assistant coach at Wingate University (NC) & one year at Erskine College (SC), both top NCAA Division-II baseball programs. Coach Womer brings an outstanding knowledge of the game as well as a strong passion for developing baseball players & young men of all ages. Tyler’s areas of expertise are in hitting & base running, infield play & outfield play.

Originally from New Castle, PA, Tyler attended Wingate University (NCAA D-II) where he played infield from 2007-2011. While playing at Wingate, Tyler was part of the 2011 Conference Tournament Championship winning team that finished the season 34-22 and advanced to the NCAA D-II Regional Tournament. After graduating with a degree in Sport Management in 2011, Tyler stayed at Wingate to pursue his coaching career as an assistant coach while attending graduate school. While at Wingate, Tyler assisted with the coaching & development of the infielders & hitters. He was also responsible for running the youth camps, high school showcase camps & organizing the annual team golf tournament.

In 2012, Tyler was hired as the Recruiting Coordinator/Assistant Coach at DeSales University in Center Valley, PA. While at DeSales, Coach Tyler had the opportunity to coach under & learn from the legendary Tim Neiman who currently has the 12th most career wins (760 Wins) in NCAA Division-III History. Coach Neiman played a huge role in shaping & molding Coach Womer’s mindset and coaching philosophies early on in his coaching career. At DeSales, Coach Womer was given the keys to all the recruiting responsibilities while also coaching the infielders, outfielders & hitters. Between Coach Womer’s three recruiting classes at DeSales, he was responsible for bringing in 19 players who were named to the MAC Freedom All-Conference Team a total of 36 times throughout their careers at DeSales University!

Coach Womer first moved to the DMV in 2017 when he was hired as the Director of Operations for the Mizuno Outlaws Travel Baseball Organization & the Assistant Director of Baseball at Crozier’s 5-Tool Baseball Academy (C5TBA) in Tyson’s Corner, VA. While running the Mizuno Outlaws, Tyler was responsible for the significant growth of the organization going from 5 teams to 11 teams in 2019. Coach Womer is extremely thankful for the opportunity to work closely with and learn from former Major League player and current hitting coach, Eric Crozier, while with C5TBA.

In August 2019, Coach Womer was hired as an assistant coach at Erskine College (SC), one of the top NCAA D-II programs in the country. At Erskine, Coach Womer worked with the infielders while assisting with the Flying Fleet hitters. The Flying Fleet finished the 2020 shortened season with a record of 17-8-1.
