Winter Training - Baseball

GFLL is please to announce two opportunities for winter training in the offseason!


Register for Winter Camps at MVP Baseball School - Reston
MVP Baseball School is excited to offer the following winter baseball training opportunities for players inGreat Falls Little League:

8-Week Baseball Combo Camp
MVP Baseball School is now accepting registrations for their very popular 8-week Little League pitching/hitting combo camp. Players will receive pitching and hitting instruction from some of MVP's finest professional instructors.

Sessions run for one hour, once a week. If players do not wish to pitch, they can focus on hitting for the entire hour. There will be a 4 to 1 player-to-coach ratio.

There are currently only 3 sessions being offered and they will sell out so don't wait to register. Space is limited to 12 players per session. The camp is open to players league ages 8 - 12.

Early Bird tuition for the 8-week camp is $345 through November 30th, 2018. Starting December 1st tuition will be $360.

This camp is a great way to prepare for the upcoming GFLL season.Camps meet once per week on Tuesdays or Saturdays at the MVP Baseball School facility located at 356 Victory Drive Herndon VA beginning on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018.The following sessions are offered:
8-Week Advanced Catching Camp
Registration is now open for the MVP 8-week Advanced Catching Camp.The camp is open to players league ages 8 - 12 and will enable catchers tohone their receiving, blocking and throwing skills.

Camps meet once per week beginning Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at the Epic Athletic Center located at 11503 Sunset Hills Rd, Reston, VA 20190. The following session is available:

Wednesday Night Catching Clinics

First 4 weeks: 11/28, 12/5, 12/12, 12/19

Second 4 weeks:  1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30

 

      Beginner (Grades 3-6)  6pm-7pm

Intermediate (Grades 7-8)   7pm-8pm

High School (All high school grades)   8pm-9pm

Camp is staffed by Kevin Healy, Head Coach at Washington-Lee High School and former catcher at the College of William and Mary.  Coach Healy attended Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, VA where he was a catcher and designated hitter for the Knights.  Coach Healy moved on to the College of William and Mary where he was a catcher with the Tribe from 2001-2004.  The 2001 squad advanced to the Clemson Regional of the NCAA tournament after winning the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. Coach Healy has coached teams in Northern Virginia area since 2006 and has run catching clinics since 2004.  He has also traveled to Europe to work with players in the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary

  • Sessions 5-8 are geared to address specific needs within the group, whether it be focusing on throwing, receiving, blocking, etc.
